Smart UMN support

Smart UMN is an independent student planning tool. Official APAS, advising and registration systems remain authoritative.

Before troubleshooting

Use a current Chrome version (the extension requires Chrome 120 or newer).
Confirm the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions.
Open smartumn.qinyangtan.com and confirm the planner loads.
If course evidence is unavailable, check the planner again later; UMN Schedule Builder or GopherGrades may be temporarily unavailable.

APAS connection

Choose Connect APAS in Smart UMN. Sign-in and Duo happen only on official UMN pages. If the connection expires, reconnect and complete any UMN prompts. Smart UMN does not ask for your UMN password or Duo code.

Reset local data

Use Forget local academic data inside Smart UMN to clear the imported profile and saved planning state. You can also clear site data for smartumn.qinyangtan.com and remove the extension. See the privacy policy for details.

What to include in a bug report

Describe the feature, course code, browser/extension version and the visible error. Screenshots are useful only after removing personal academic information. Do not send raw APAS HTML, student IDs, X500 usernames, passwords, Duo codes, cookies, SAML data or other credentials.

Smart UMN is a planning aid, not an official audit or registration system. Unknown requirements remain review-only, and generated plans do not guarantee registration, graduation or a particular grade.
